Dr. Lisa B. Thompson is an author, playwright, and scholar, whose work examines stereotypes about Black life in the United States, particularly the experiences of the Black middle class. She is a professor of African and African Diaspora Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, and a New School Presidental Visiting Scholar for 2022. She is the author of four books, including 2021’s The Mamalogues.
